I am the blood in your veins
The organs tucked neatly away inside your flesh,
Caged among cartilage, tendon, and bone.
By law of nature, gravity’s will,
The call to freedom is always there,
But your skin secures me, cradles me,
Keeps me safe and sound.
I keep you alive.
I live in darkness,
So that you may thrive in light.
Would come only at your peril.
I would become nothing,
So keep me safe and keep me close,
Love and respect me as I do you,
Let us live happily together.
For I am your bodily form,
